Match Coverage Area to Your Room Size (Not Just "Works for Large Rooms")
Why it matters: An air purifier rated for 1800 ft² won't clean a 1800 ft² room effectively if the CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) is too low. You need to look at air exchange rate—how many times per hour the purifier cycles all the air in your space.
What to look for:
-
CADR rating: Measures how much clean air (in cubic feet or meters per minute) the purifier delivers. Higher CADR = faster cleaning.
-
Air exchanges per hour: For allergy and asthma relief, aim for at least 4–5 air changes per hour. For general freshness, 2–3 is acceptable.
-
Example: A purifier with 190 m³/h CADR can exchange air 5 times per hour in a 140 ft² bedroom, but only 3 times per hour in a 240 ft² living room.

Buyer tip: Measure your room (length × width) and check the product specs for "recommended room size" and air exchange rate, not just maximum coverage.
